Syed Akbar Hussain, popularly known as Akbar Allahabadi (Urdu: اکبر الہ آبادی) was born on 16 November 1846 in the town of Bara, Allahabad, North-Western Provinces, British India.
He died of a fever on 15 February 1921 and was buried in Himmatganj district of Allahabad. Akbar Allahabadi was an Indian Urdu poet, widely acknowledged as a master of humour and satire.
